We made it

Hi Reader,

We made it to launch day.

I honestly had my doubts.

But, in spite of it all, we're still here. Life is good and we have a new appreciation for all of it.

A year ago, all was well. I released my second book in the series.

Shortly after that, Kath and I booked a trip to Munich via Iceland to visit my publisher at dtv-Verlag.

But mostly, we just wanted to walk around bookstores in Germany and Austria looking for the translation of Fortunate Son.

They were everywhere.

The trip was magical. And I got a lot of writing done. Scratching out page after page of the next Emma Noble book, Noble Reckoning.

There was a lot less magic a few months later when Kath was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Her doctors weren't sure she was going to make it to September.

But Kath was determined to make it to September. And it had nothing to do with the launch of Noble Reckoning.

She wanted to be alive to see her grandson, Enzo, born.

Helpless, we leaned on doctors, and science, and a breakthrough therapy that changed everything.

As of today, they can't see any cancer in Kath's scans.

Enzo was born a few weeks ago. Kath held that beautiful kid in her arms.

And that boy is going to know his grandmother.

Oh, and, yes, Kath's around for the launch of Noble Reckoning today.

No small miracle.

This is where I need to thank some people because without them, there was no hope for this book.

Ed Stackler, my editor, was, as usual, brilliant. But he was also patient with me as I stumbled into the final draft.

My team at Mission Point Press shouldered more than their share to get this book out in the world. Every one of them is a superstar.

And then there are the people that have held me up when I felt like falling. I'm looking at all of you. Your emails to me and to Kath were powerful and healing.

I'm grateful to the Street Team who have taken the time to read and review Noble Reckoning. So many of you have gone above and beyond to get the word out.

Here's a small sample of what they're saying about the new book.

As of today, Noble Reckoning is out in the world.

A lot has happened to bring us to this moment.

A lot.

Happy Thursday!

Andy

Hi Reader, I follow famous authors on social media. Why? Because I'm a masochist, maybe. Every book release post is the same: a selfie of the smiling author with three hundred people holding his or her books in the background. If you follow me on social media and haven't seen me posting photos with two hundred readers holding Noble Reckoning, don't worry. You didn't miss anything. My family photographs my events. It takes a certain skill to set up a shot so it gives the impression that more...

Hi Reader, You ever get that feeling you're falling? I did. And guess what? I was. Apparently, I steered my little bookmobile right off a very steep cliff. Now, I'm scrambling to get the parachute to deploy. What? Just go with it. Pretend my bookmobile has the parachute option and I'm not just torturing metaphors willy-nilly. A while back, I publicly declared I was done being a vassal of Amazon. I thumped my chest and pulled my books from Kindle Unlimited. If you're not familiar, KU is...

Hi Reader, Noble Legacy will be the fourth and (possibly) the final book in the Emma Noble series. I'm not nearly as far along as I'd hoped to be. I’ve started it four times. I think. I kinda lost count. Sorry about that. But don't worry. I've been thinking about it. And I heard someone once say that thinking about your story qualifies as writing. Except... it's really not. Writing is writing. I have excuses. Being caught in the emotional riptide of Kath's diagnosis made writing a lower-level...
